Keyfeatures & benefits

The SW640-5 is a high-sensitivity photon emission imaging system based on a cooled InGaAs SWIR sensor

The SW640-5 is a cooled SWIR imaging system based on a 640×480 InGaAs sensor, capable of detecting weak photon emissions across the 400–1700 nm spectrum. It non-invasively identifies faults such as latch-up, leakage current, junction damage, dielectric breakdown, and gate oxide defects in semiconductor devices. Combined with the Univid SWIR microscope and Thermalyze software, the system enables precise defect localization and automated image analysis.

01. Non-Destructive Photon Emission Imaging

The SW640-5 is equipped with a cooled InGaAs-based SWIR sensor, enabling sensitive detection of faint photon emissions generated by failure modes such as latch-up, leakage current, and junction damage in semiconductor devices.
This system allows fully non-invasive photon emission microscopy (PEM) analysis and can be configured in parallel with visible and NIR cameras for comparative imaging workflows.

02. Advanced Analysis via Thermalyze Software

Integrated with Optotherm’s Thermalyze software, the SW640-5 supports powerful diagnostic tools such as Lock-in Thermography, Overlay/Subtraction comparison, histogram-based evaluation, and strip chart display.
It also enables precise, region-specific emissivity control, temperature alarms, and automated report generation for detailed fault isolation and quantitative PEM analysis.

03. Compatibility with Univid Microscope Platform

The SW640-5 works in combination with the Univid optical microscope system, offering high-resolution magnification from 2X to 50X with a 4-position objective turret.
Motorized fine-focus control and easily swappable optical modules enhance usability.
Optional beam splitters and 45° mirror blocks optimize light path efficiency, ensuring maximum photon collection while maintaining compact instrument design.
